Our staff is experienced beyond those projects completed by SCD. Here are are just a few of the
projects our staff contributed to before they came to be with Solid Civil Design.
State Route 21, Talladega County, AL for ALDOT: Project Director for
surveying, environmental documents, corridor study and preparation of contract
plans and right of way documents for rural widening of the existing SR-21 from a
two lane to a four lane divided between Sylacauga and Talladega (16 miles).
State Route SR-118, Marion County, AL for ALDOT: Project Manager for surveying
and plan preparation of contract plans and right of way documents for widening
and reconstruction of SR-118 between Guin and Winfield (11 mi.).
Birmingham Northern Beltline, Jefferson County, AL for ALDOT: Project Director
for Functional design plans on nine miles of new location interstate with three
interchanges including one Route to Route interchange.
State Route 261, Shelby County, AL for ALDOT: Project Director for surveying,
environmental documents, corridor study and preparation of contract plans and
right of documents for urban widening of an existing 2 lane facility to a five
lane. (3.3 miles).
US 82, Tuscaloosa County, AL for ALDOT: Project manager for preparation of
contract plans for urban widening of the existing four lane to a six lane for
2.2 miles.
Garvee Bond Bridge Replacement Projects: Project Manager for bridge
replacement projects in Jefferson, Lauderdale, Marshall, and Winston Counties.
US 51 Widening in North Grenada, Grenada County, MS for MDOT: Responsible for
preparing the environmental document for this project. This included
coordinating and compiling information and studies required to prepare the
environmental document and participating in the public hearing and answering
citizens questions about the proposed project.. This project was significant in
that the design criteria for the route was satisfied while Section 4(f) impacts
to a historic district and a public park were avoided.
East Harrison County Connector, Harrison County, MS for MDOT: Involved with
the preparation of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for a route in
Biloxi, MS, that will connect US 90 to I-10. This project was challenging
because of the numerous environmental constraints present on the Mississippi
Gulf Coast. The resources impacted on this project included endangered species,
historic properties, Keesler Air Force Base, wetlands, hazardous wastes sites,
navigation waterways, and relocations.
I-69 Environmental Studies in Mississippi for MDOT: Involved in the initial
studies for the I-69 corridor through the Mississippi Delta and for the segment
connecting Mississippi and Tennessee.
